Changing Workplace Energy Usage Behaviors
According to Energy Star, 30% of all energy consumed by office buildings is wasted. Current solutions attempt to fix this problem by retrofitting existing lighting fixtures to be automated. However, according to a study done by Carnegie Mellon University, employees who are simply made aware of and given control of their personal electrical energy usage can reduce the building’s electrical energy consumption by a third. Our purpose is to help companies with established cubicle-style office spaces reduce energy consumption by identifying employees’ wasteful energy habits and incentivising change in their individual behaviors.
