Save the Honeybees!
Varroa mites have been killing off entire Honeybee hives since the 80's. In recent years, their populations in beehives has gotten out of control. As a result, hives become infested with mites that cause disease and weaker immune systems amongst the bees. Currently, beekeepers have to disrupt the operations of the hive to manually count the mites. The goal is to develop a product that will count the amount of mites in the hive and tell beekeepers when they should begin to treat for varroa with little disruption to the hive.
